Paul Yakubu is a Nigerian architect and designer.

He develops projects using waste materials to create furniture, objects and architecture. For his work in residence in Marseille, he has designed the prototype of a mobile grocery kit, "Umbrella Stall". The design was inspired by the architecture of the parasols used in Lagos, Nigeria, to create a shop that would blend in with its surroundings.

« As you move around Lagos, it's hard not to notice the many informal structures that serve as shops, restaurants and markets. These structures are found throughout the city and play an important role in its visual language. This project aims to examine the positive contributions and challenges presented by these informal refuges. »

« Umbrella Stall » was produced with the SudSide workshops during his residency.
