PROGRAM
5:30 PM
Le sel de la terre-Bass
Choreography by the dancers of Lycée Saint-Charles
“La Cité Radieuse” illustrates the theories of architect Le Corbusier, who sought to harmoniously combine individual and collective living. The essential components of this architecture form the foundation of a new artistic movement: Brutalism.
The principles of the Modulor and Critical Regionalism—which incorporates the fundamental elements of Marseille, such as sea and land—are concepts that aim to ensure that 20th-century modern architecture preserves local cultural identity while giving meaning to life.
This choreographic creation resonates with those core architectural elements, binding them to the soul of the city and expressing their artistic power through movement: Le sel de la terre–Bass (The Salt of the Earth–Bass).
