Mathilde Dewavrin

Artist-architect

Artist-architect with a transdisciplinary practice, Mathilde Dewavrin is part of Collectif Trouble, focused on creating speculative narratives and universes in public spaces as a way to address contemporary social and ecological issues.

During her residency at the Citadelle de Marseille, she aims to give a central place to life stories, both human and non-human. Following three stages of work that include participatory workshops and public, roaming presentations, she seeks to build an authentic and lived narrative of the Citadelle de Marseille. At the heart of a space in transition, these stories will serve as tools for the civil society’s reappropriation of the space, offering it the role of sentinel in return.

This multi-format project will result, on one hand, in the creation of an alternative map of the site made up of intertwined stories, tangible and abstract elements, words and textures; and on the other hand, a theatrical, roaming presentation taking the form of a series of events around the themes of habitat, living beings, and imaginaries.
